Our Unique Perspective
At Uplift, many of us come from these environments—remote, isolated, and conflict-affected areas riddled with poverty, drug abuse, human trafficking, gang violence, and crime. By sheer luck, some of us managed to escape these environments, receive a good education that taught us to think critically, and land jobs in both the private and non-profit sectors. We have firsthand experience of the needs and sufferings of vulnerable and marginalized communities because we used to be—and still are—one of them. More importantly, we know how to empower them because there were key individuals and institutions who uplifted and helped us escape poverty, and now it is our turn to do the same.
Our Team
The Uplift Strategic Management Team consists of individuals educated in the West—in America and Europe. We have worked in local and international organizations, both in the private and non-profit sectors, lived, and traveled extensively in several countries, and possess diverse work and education experiences ranging from tourism and business consulting to
international development and civic engagement.
